Since 2001, William H. Schumann, III has served as chief financial officer of FMC Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of technology solutions for the energy industry and other industrial markets, worldwide. Previously, he served as the senior vice president and chief financial officer of FMC Corporation, and vice president and general manager of its Agricultural Products Group.

Mr. Schumann joined FMC in 1981 as director of Pension Investments and served in various management positions throughout that decade, including treasurer in 1987. Before joining FMC Corporation, he served as financial planning manager for Sunkist Growers, Inc., a position he had held since 1975. Mr. Schumann was also a project management analyst with Hughes Helicopter from 1973 to 1975.

Mr. Schumann also serves on the board of directors of Great Lakes Advisors, an independent investment management firm, and had previously served on the board of United Agri Products, an agricultural products distributor.

He earned a bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering at the University of California at Los Angeles and a master's degree in Management Science from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Southern California.

As a member of Avnet's board of directors Mr. Schumann chairs the Audit Committee and serves on the Finance Committee.
